MerchantRates Sweepstakes Official Rules
No Purchase Necessary to Enter or Win. A Purchase does not improve your chances of winning. Void where prohibited. You have not won yet. Sweepstakes ends May 1, 2008.
To Enter: The MerchantRates Sweepstakes begins March 21, 2008 and ends on May 1, 2008. Contestants may enter by completing the information online at http://merchantrates.com/. Only one entry per business entity. Entrants can also hand-print their name, business name, address, city, state, zip, phone, email address and the words “MerchantRates Sweepstakes: on a 3”x5” card and mail in a stamped #10 envelop to:

All mail-in entries must be received no later than May 1, 2008 to be eligible for the drawing. Only one entry per business entity. Vantage Card Services, Inc (VCS) is not responsible for incomplete, illegible, late, lost, misdirected, electronic miscommunications or failures of any kind. Contest void where prohibited by law. The number of entries received determines the odds of winning. Entries become the property of VCS and will not be returned.
Eligibility: The MerchantRates Sweepstakes is open to all legal businesses in all fifty (50) states and the District of Columbia except those businesses on the VCS restricted merchant list. Void where prohibited by law. The sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Drawing: The winner will be selected in one automated random drawing on May 2, 2008. VCS is not responsible for invalid, inaccurate, misprinted or incorrectly entered email addresses or other entry form data.
Prize: No cash equivalent and all prizes are non-transferable and no substitution will be made. The MerchantRates Sweepstakes prize is $1,000 in VCS processing fees. Winners will process credit and debit card transactions through an approved VCS merchant account and be responsible for paying Interchange, Dues and Assessment fees. VCS will credit your VCS merchant account for the processing fees paid each month until the $1,000 limit is reached. The VCS merchant agreement is month-to-month with no application fee, no annual fee, no monthly minimum and no termination fee.
Winner: Once notified by phone or email, the winner has 5 business days to reply, otherwise a new winner may be drawn. Winner must present valid business license and federal tax id. If Winner cannot be credit approved for a VCS merchant account, a new Winner will be selected from the remaining entries. Winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and any expenses relating to the acceptance and use of a prize and those not specified are the responsibility of the Winner. VCS assumes no responsibility or liability for damages, losses, injury or death resulting from the acceptance and use of this prize. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. VCS reserves the right to modify the prize without compromising the integrity of the offer as determined by VCS in its sole discretion.
Agreement: All drawing entrants, by their participation, agree to be bound by these Official Rules. VCS reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who violates these rules, and any subsequent entries of the disqualified entrant. The laws of the United States apply and govern this sweepstakes and any claims must be raised and resolved in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of Georgia or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Georgia and shall be resolved individually without resort to any form of class action. Any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this promotion, but in no event attorneys’ fees. Additionally, entrants and winners agree to release, discharge and hold harmless VCS, their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors and employees from any liability, claims, or damages arising out of their participation in the promotion and the acceptance, use, misuse, or possession of any prize.
Publicity: Except where prohibited, participation in the sweepstakes constitutes winner’s consent to VCS’s use of their name, likeness, opinions, city and state for advertising or promotional purposes in media without compensation or further consideration.
Privacy: All information submitted as part of this sweepstakes will be treated in accordance with the MerchantRates.com privacy policy.
Limitation of Liability: VCS is not responsible for printing or typographical errors in any sweepstakes-related materials; for stolen, lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, illegible, or postage-due mail or entries; or are lost due to computer or electronic malfunction. VCS reserves the right to cancel or modify the sweepstakes if fraud or technical failures compromise the integrity of the offer as determined by VCS in its sole discretion.
Names of Winners: The sweepstakes winner will be posted on http://merchantrates.com/. For written name of winner, mail a self –addressed, stamped envelop to:
